Sustainability

• Sectors: weapons, tobacco, alcohol, gambling, drugs, adult entertainment, fossil fuels;
• Activities: all businesses in contradiction with the Sustainable Development Goals and UN Global Compact principles, models that are unsustainable or that risk to generate perverse or rebound effects;
• Practices: bad social or environmental practices, and bad businesses practices

Based on material issues of our portfolio, we defined 7 key ESG criteria for which all companies must report annually to Ring capital on their actions and progression approach. 

1. Implementation of a detailed corporate environmental policy, including best practices in: sustainable procurement, waste management and recycling, use of natural resources (water and energy), pollution, transport policy (vehicle and air travel), digital footprint (data centers), biodiversisty impact, etc.;
2. Realisation of an annual scope 3 carbon footprint and set up of a pluriannual GHG reduction strategy — which can be done by joining the programme set up for Ring companies with Magelan;
3. Gender equality: % of women in executive positions + calculation of the Equality Index;
4. Setting-up non-mandatory value-sharing mechanisms for all employees;
5. Implementation of a diversity & inclusion policy including: appointment of a D&I officer, implementation of an inclusive recruitment policy, reporting on D&I criteria, and training and awareness-raising for the team — which can be done through a TechYourPlace membership;
6. Boards: progress on the share of independent members and gender parity;
7. Share with all employees a formalised ESG strategy.

• Ring Capital implemented a comprehensive climate strategy including an assessment of climate maturity at portfolio level, and the set up of a dedicated program with Magelan enabling companies to conduct an annual carbon footprint assessment and to define a climate action plan;
• To be in line with what we promote among our portfolio companies, Ring Capital also reports annually on its scope 3 carbon footprint and decarbonation plan at company level.
