Djoli

The digital platform for supplying fresh produce to restaurants in West Africa.
Djoli supplies restaurants with quality products, while protecting their revenues and promoting suppliers.

The challenge they want to solve
The fresh food supply chain in West Africa is dominated by inefficiencies, fragmentation, and informal practices. Restaurants and food professionals (HoReCa) lose up to €15,000 per year to opaque pricing and intermediaries, spending over 600 hours annually sourcing products at local markets. Meanwhile, more than 40% of food is wasted due to poor inventory management and demand forecasting. With an average of five intermediaries per order, producers receive low compensation while buyers face uncertainty in quality, traceability, and delivery — all within a fast-growing market of over 146,000 restaurants.
The impact they have
Djoli aims to significantly increase the efficiency and sustainability of the food supply chain in Francophone Africa. By directly connecting producers with HoReCa professionals, the platform ensures better margins for suppliers and fairer prices for buyers. Through advanced data analytics and real-time demand forecasting, Djoli reduces food waste, simplifies procurement, and improves inventory planning. As a result, it enables more predictable, traceable, and profitable operations across the ecosystem.
The way we measure it
We measure the reduction in food waste, time saved in procurement by HoReCa clients, and the financial gains made through the removal of intermediaries. We also track supplier revenue growth, customer retention, and the volume of traceable, high-quality products delivered through the platform.
